Terms and Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

  • Mary-Allen Studio Tour shall be referred to as MAST.
  • The term “Artist” shall mean any person or representative who shall schedule, confirm, and/or participate in MAST.
  • The term "Sponsor" shall mean any person, organization who shall exhibit their logo on the mast’s website and printed material. Unless the artist is a sponsor, the sponsors shall not attend the studio tour.

 

2. NATURE OF WORK

  • Artist's work must be original in the media the Artist specifies in the application. The Artist may produce prints of their own work; however the Artists are NOT allowed to reproduce, duplicate, or copy another person’s work.
  • “Country Crafts” (soaps, edibles, etc.), mass-produced, or commercially manufactured consumer goods are NOT allowed. If MAST unknowingly allows any such items, the Artist shall be asked to remove the item(s) in violation without compensation for loss of income or refund of Artist’s fees.

 

3. APPROVAL OF APPLICATION

  • Artists applying to MAST shall submit the completed online application by March 31st. Artists shall be notified of the jury’s selections, by the 7th of April.
  • Only the Artists who have participated in the previous year's tour are invited to join back; however, the Artists are subject to these terms and conditions. All other Artists who have previously participated in MAST must go through the application process.
  • MAST may cancel the application or agreement at any time without giving any reason and without incurring any liability of any nature by refunding the Artist for the amount paid for the membership. Applications may be refused at the sole and absolute discretion of MAST without giving any reason.

 

4. ARTIST MEMBERSHIP FEES, PAYMENT TERMS & CANCELLATIONS

  • All participating Artists agree to pay MAST the full cost of the membership by April 15th. MAST reserves the right to cancel Artist’s participation if payment has not been received by April 15th.
  • The Membership fees for 2017 are $100.
  • The Membership fees and are not refundable.

    • Cash or cheque
    • ETransfer
  • Credit Card - payment by credit card will incur a service charge of 5% of the total to cover credit card processing fees.
  • Artists shall receive an email confirmation that payment has been received.

 

5. ARTISTS LOCATIONS

  • MAST is centred in the UpTown Waterloo area. Artists who have their studios outside the area can still apply to MAST; however, the Artist shall be asked to set up their display with another Artist who is in the MAST area.
  • The executive committee shall assign display locations based on feedback from the applicants and available spaces within the MAST area.
  • Each participating location shall have a designated location coordinator.

 

6. SHOW DATES, SET-UP, AND TAKE-DOWN

  • MAST dates are
    • Friday September 29, 2017 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
    • Saturday September 30, 2017 from 10:00am to 5:00pm
    • Sunday October 1, 2017 from 12:00noon to 4:00pm.
  • Set up is arranged between the Artists and the location coordinators.
  • Artists shall not pack up or take down their display during the Tour times. However, Artists are allowed to either leave their display or take it down after the end of each day.

 

7. ARTIST LIABILTY AND INSURANCE

  • MAST is not responsible for any liability. The Artists are strongly advised to provide their own public liability insurance.
  • MAST, the locations, and the location coordinators shall NOT accept any liability for theft, breakage, or any damage to the Artist’s property, person, or home.
  • It is the responsibility of the Artist or home owner to carry the appropriate permits, licenses, insurance and collect the appropriate tax where applicable.

 

8. INFORMATION PRIVACY

  • MAST requires personal information in its application process; this information will be kept in strictest confidence and not shared with any third parties.
  • Every accepted Artist has the opportunity to control the information that appears in any public domain. This control is accessible through the Artist profile that is created on the website and available only after the artist has been accepted to the tour.

 

9. SPONSORSHIP

  • MAST offers sponsorship opportunities for Artists and Sponsors on its printed material and website.
    • Sponsorship on printed material represents the Sponsor's logo placed on printed materials. The duration of SPONSORSHIP is limited to the time an individual keeps the personal invitation.
    • Sponsorship on website represents the Sponsor's logo and a link to the Sponsor's website. The duration of sponsorship is from the time sponsorship fees are received to March 31 of the following year. Sponsorship on the website is available in two forms:
      • Sponsor's logo and link appearing under the list of sponsors
      • Sponsor's logo and link appearing on any of the rotating banners. The banners rotate at 5 second intervals with the first banner appearing on any page navigation.

 

10. SPONSORSHIP FEES, PAYMENT TERMS & CANCELLATIONS

  • All Sponsors agree to pay MAST the full cost of the sponsorship fees by April 15th. MAST reserves the right to cancel a sponsorship if payment has not been received by April 15th.
  • MAST sponsorship fees are as follows:
    • $100 for printed material and website under the list of 'Sponsors' link
    • $100 for First rotating banner
    • $80 for second rotating banner
    • $50 for third and any subsequent rotating banner
  • Sponsorship fees are not refundable
  • Payment options:
    • Cash or cheque
    • ETransfer
    • Credit Card - payment by credit card will incur a service charge of 5% of the total to cover credit card processing fees.
  • Sponsors shall receive an email confirmation that payment has been received
