I have been drawing since I can remember, lured by any clean blank piece of paper and have always found ways to incorporate art into my world. Primarily self taught, I have attended numerous art courses and workshops over the years. Instruction at the Haliburton School of Art, Albert Casson’s School of Art, Loyalist Art School and a variety of classes with local artists have inspired and guided my skill development. More recently I have been an online attendee at Art Live conferences. I work primarily with pastels though also enjoy mixed media i.e. watercolors, colored pencil and pen and ink. Wildlife, birds and young animals tend to be my main subjects of interest, but I take pleasure in working from a wide range of topics.
Details tend to capture my eye and I love the challenge of exploring elusive details beyond the obvious. As I progress with my work, I enjoy finding and surprising myself and viewers with the unexpected – be it colour or line. I am a current member of KWSA (Kitchener Waterloo Society of Artists) and Pastel Artists of Canada.
My art has been displayed in the Maple Hollow Studio north of Kingston, Café du Monde in Cambridge, the Link Gallery in Waterloo and the Minto Art Gallery in Harriston. In 2022 I was a participating artist in the Art in the Sawmill Show in Verona, Ontario and in the Cambridge Centre for the Arts juried show in Cambridge On.
I look forward to new art adventures in 2023.
