Ioana Dragomir is an interdisciplinary artist born in Romania and currently living in Canada. She is a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo, Honours BA Fine Arts Studio Practice with a minor in Computer Science. Her practice and inclination toward the archive is strongly informed by her position as an information librarian .

She is interested in close reading and mining personal lived experience as the basis of her work. Negative space, a considered approach to art history, language, and literature are all central to her practice. She utilizes process-based mediums that involve repetition and meditation such as drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. She is a believer of leaving evidence of the hand and its labour in her work
