Melanie is a local artist who grew up in a small farming community just north of Guelph. Her talents are largely credited to her mother who taught her to draw in pencil as a child. Melanie went on to study architecture in her late 20’s while continuing to paint in acrylic mediums as a hobby.
With her first piece commissioned in December 2017, a painting sold for a television pilot, displays at local restaurants and international commissions, Melanie has had a very exciting first year.
Using acrylic, broken glass and resin mediums, Melanie draws inspiration from viewing celebrities as individuals prior their fame and in their most often vulnerable and humble states. She aims to capture the very raw and visceral feelings and messages that are unconsciously ingrained in their talents.
