Like the lyrics to your favourite song, Kat Hernden's work takes complex ideas, concepts and emotions and distills them down to their basic essence. Her use of simple geometric shapes imbues the work with a sense of order and precision, which is then softened and enhanced with the subtle imperfections and textures lent to the piece by hand stitching. Kat studied Semiotics, Media Analysis and Communications at the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Art District Gallery where she shows new work every six weeks. She is also a member of Art$pay and Button Factory Arts. Kat currently creates out of Globe Studios in Downtown Kitchener.
