Sandi McCrory

I love sculpting wool fibres to create three dimensional objects that make people smile; a chickadee, a cactus, a mushroom, or a fried egg on toast.  My work has realism, yet also has some whimsy.  I think the charm comes from focussing on everyday things that surround us.  My favourite things to study and use as subjects are food, flora and fauna.

I also “paint" landscapes using merino wool and the wet felt technique.  I love adding reflective fibres like silk and bamboo to create a light source.  Catching a fleeting moment before the sun sets or rises is always the goal!  My workshop is a riot of colourful fibres just waiting to become something!
